CSC Announces Merger with HPE Enterprise Services Segment

CSC (NYSE: CSC) announced that it would be merging with the Enterprise Services segment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE), creating a massive global IT services company expected to have annual revenues of $26 billion.

The unit of HPE that is merging with CSC accounts for approximately 100,000 staff, or 50 percent of the company’s headcount. HPE’s remaining operations will center on hardware sales, including software, server systems, networking and storage.

The combined company will be the third-largest IT services business globally, with more than 5,000 customers across 70 countries and $3 billion in next-generation offerings.

Austin region population boom not slowing, latest Census data shows

While the Austin region cracked 2 million residents last year, Georgetown was the fastest-growing city in the nation, the U.S. Census Bureau reports. New Braunfels and Pflugerville weren’t far behind in the countrywide ranking.

According to city-level population estimates released Thursday morning, Georgetown, just north of Austin, is the fastest-growing U.S. city with more than 50,000 residents. It grew by 7.8 percent from mid-2014 through mid-2015, adding 4,611 residents and raising its population from 59,105 to 63,716.

Avalon Health Care to Acquire 10 Oregon Skilled Nursing Facilities

SALT LAKE CITY, UT and SPRINGFIELD, OR – Avalon Health Care Group and Pinnacle Healthcare today announced that they have entered into an operations transfer agreement, under which Avalon Health Care would acquire the leases of Pinnacle’s 10 Oregon skilled nursing facilities.  The combination would expand Avalon’s footprint to Oregon, its seventh state, and bring its total skilled nursing facility count to 49.

Epic Health Services Expands Footprint in Virginia with Acquisition of Rehabilitation Associates
